XTAR is a privately owned and operated company providing commercial services in the X-band frequency (7.25-8.4 GHz) through its two satellite payloads, XTAR-EUR and XTAR-LANT. XTAR’s fleet, which was launched with zero government funding, is exclusively dedicated to serving the essential satellite communications needs of U.S. and Allied military and government organizations. The high-powered global, fixed and steerable beams on XTAR's two payloads provide cost-effective, flexible, secure X-band capacity with coverage from Denver east to Singapore.

XTAR's unique satellite system provides support to the MAC I level critical communications requirements of multi-national governments, military, diplomatic, and civilian government agencies.

XTAR's services are designed to be fully compatible with Wideband Global SATCOM and legacy Department of Defense (DoD) SATCOM terminals, supporting stationary and mobile warfighters in the air, on the ground and at sea and under severe weather conditions. Via numerous government-owned and commercial teleports throughout the XTAR coverage area, our X-band capacity is easily accessible and integrated into terrestrial networks.

A U.S. limited liability corporation, XTAR is a joint venture between Loral Space & Communications and HISDESAT. Headquartered in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, XTAR has offices in Madrid, Spain and Palo Alto, California.
